Meet Our Attorneys
Sue ann armitage
Sue Ann Lewis Armitage grew up in St. Mary's County. She graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), and then from the University of Baltimore School of Law. She has operated her law practice in Lexington Park for thirty-one years. Over the course of her career she has handled a wide variety of cases, including family law, estate planning, insurance defense, worker's compensation, personal injury and business matters. Sue Ann is also a certified mediator.
Sue Ann and the practice received the Maryland State Bar Association's Pro Bono Service Award. Only one practice is recognized each year from the entire state in the small firm category. Sue Ann was named by The Daily Record as one of the Top 100 Women in Maryland in 2023. This award recognized women of achievement in business, law, public affairs, and the arts. She was designated a Leader in Law in 2022 in recognition of her success as an attorney and business owner in St. Mary’s County. She was also one of only twenty-five lawyers named to the Power List of Family Law Attorneys. She has served on the Boards of Directors for St. Mary's Ryken High School, the St. Mary's County Bar Association, the St. Mary's County Juvenile Drug Court Program, and Bay Montessori School.
daniel armitage
Dan Armitage was born and raised in St. Mary's County. He graduated from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland and then received his law degree from the University of Maryland Law School. He was Articles Editor for The Maryland Law Review and then served as The Hon. Marvin Kaminetz's first law clerk. Thereafter he practiced law in Leonardtown and Lexington Park. Currently, in addition to private practice, he is counsel to an agency of County government and serves as Hearing Officer for the St. Mary's County Housing Authority.
Dan and the practice received the Maryland State Bar Association's Pro Bono Service Award. Only one practice is so recognized each year from the entire state in the small firm category. He received the 2023 Martindale-Hubbell award for Legal Ability and Ethical Standards. He was selected for specialized training in the Maryland Bar Association's Leadership Academy. He is currently a member of the Family Recovery Court Advisory Team for the Circuit Court for St. Mary's County.
